Bayern Munich defeated Augsburg 2-0 to extend its lead at the top of German soccer’s Bundesliga.
Thomas Muller and Mario Gomez scored as Bayern moved 11 points ahead of second-place Bayer Leverkusen, which plays at Hannover tomorrow.
Two-time defending champion Borussia Dortmund, playing with 10 men, fell 14 points behind Bayern with a a 3-2 home loss to Wolfsburg. Dortmund’s Marcel Schmelzer was red-carded in the first half for a handball on the goal line.
Eintracht Frankfurt moved into a tie with Dortmund on 27 points with a 4-1 home win over Werder Bremen. Schalke fell into fifth place after a 3-1 loss at Stuttgart which left the teams tied with 25 points.
