U.S. Stocks Pare Losses as Boehner ‘Optimistic’ on Budget Talks

U.S. stocks pared losses as Speaker of the House John Boehner said he is “optimistic” budget talks with President Barack Obama will continue.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index slipped less than 0.2 percent to 1,396.38 at 10:38 a.m. in New York after sliding as much as 1 percent earlier.
