Bharat Petroleum Said to Buy January Nemba, Mellitah Crudes

Bharat Petroleum Corp. (BPCL), India’s second-largest state refiner, bought 2 million barrels of Angolan Nemba crude via a tender from Vitol Group for loading in January, said two traders with knowledge of the matter.

The company also purchased 1 million barrels of Libyan Mellitah blend from Total SA, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is confidential.

Bharat Petroleum had bought 1 million barrels each of Nemba, Mellitah and Nigerian Akpo grades for loading in December, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
