NHL Cancels All-Star Game, Season Through Dec. 14 in Lockout

The National Hockey League canceled the All-Star Game and regular-season contests through Dec. 14 as the lockout of players nears the end of its 10th week.

The league said in a statement that a total of 422 games, or 34 percent of the season, have been lost to the labor dispute. It earlier had canceled games through Nov. 30 as well as the Jan. 1 outdoor Winter Classic.

The All-Star Game was to be the showcase of a weekend of festivities in Columbus, Ohio, Jan. 26-27. The lockout began on Sept. 16.
