American International Group Inc. (AIG), the insurer that counts the U.S. as its largest shareholder, said its headquarters is among company offices that will be inaccessible this week after Hurricane Sandy lashed New York.

Offices at 175 Water Street, 80 Pine Street and 1 New York Plaza will are also shut this week, the insurer said today in an alert to employees on its website.
