Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Oct. 19 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 474.6 billion yen ($5.9 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 0.9 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 81.6 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 555.3 billion yen.
Foreign investors bought 272.3 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 195.2 billion yen in stocks, and sold 165.6 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 302 billion yen.
