Global Funds Buy Net 2.06 Billion Rupees of Indian Derivatives

Global investors bought a net 2.06 billion rupees ($38.5 million) of Indian equity derivatives on Oct. 23, according to the National Stock Exchange.

Open interest, or the number of contracts outstanding in value terms, rose 1.1 percent to 1.07 trillion rupees, according to the exchange’s website. Open interest reached a record 1.6 trillion rupees on Sept. 21, 2010.

Foreign funds bought a net 2.52 billion rupees of shares in the cash segment on Oct. 23, according to preliminary data given by the bourse.
