EU-27 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Fell 2.5% in 2011, Agency Says

European Union greenhouse-gas emissions declined 2.5 percent last year, according to preliminary data from the European Environment Agency.

For the 15 earlier members of the bloc, emissions dropped 3.5 percent, while for the 12 newer participants they rose 1.5 percent in the period, the agency said today in a report published on its website.
