The companies signed an agreement to develop solutions for leak detection in fixed-water networks, they said in a statement today.

“Gutermann’s professional experience in acoustic water leak detection combined with NEC’s innovative cloud platform will deliver vital business options to decision makers in water utilities,” Lucas Grolimund, chief executive officer of Gutermann, said in the statement.

NEC also announced today that it is conducting water management research with Imperial College London in the U.K. to develop technologies to improve aging water supply infrastructures and make them more energy efficient.
