Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Oct. 12 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 705.3 billion yen ($8.9 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 6.3 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 2.3 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 696.7 billion yen.
Foreign investors bought 133.2 billion yen in Japanese bonds, sold 26.1 billion yen in stocks, and sold 2204 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net sale 2096.9 billion yen.
