Ukraine Wants to Extend IMF Stand-by Program, Kommersant Says

Ukraine seeks to extend by one year its 2010 stand-by loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund which ends this month, Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper reported, citing Iryna Akimova, deputy chief of staff of President Viktor Yanukovych.

The head of Ukraine’s central bank, Serhiy Arbuzov, Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov and Economy Minister Petro Poroshenko left for Tokyo yesterday to meet top IMF officials, according to Kommersant.
