Ukraine’s state debt, including guarantees, declined 1 percent last month as the government repaid its obligation to Russian JSC VTB Bank.
Debt declined to $61.54 billion as of Aug. 31 from $62.17 billion in July, the Finance Ministry, based in the capital, Kiev, said late yesterday in a statement on its website.
State foreign debt slid to $24.71 billion from $24.81 billion, while domestic debt expanded to $24.19 billion from $24.06 billion, it said.
