Top-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus won the second set of the U.S. Open women’s final 6-2 against Serena Williams, evening the match at one set apiece and sending it to a decisive third set.
Williams, a fourth-seeded American and three-time champion, won the first set 6-2.
