Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended Aug. 31 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 875.4 billion yen ($11.2 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 34.6 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 70.2 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 911 billion yen.
Foreign investors bought 395.4 billion yen in Japanese bonds, sold 44.8 billion yen in stocks, and bought 799.3 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 1149.9 billion yen.
