England was bowled out for 182 in the final one-day cricket match against South Africa at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Captain Alastair Cook top-scored with 51 for the host, which holds a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Spinner Robin Peterson had three wickets for the visitors.
England has won the past two games and will retain the No.1 spot in the International Cricket Council’s one-day rankings until at least January. South Africa replaced England atop the Test rankings after completing a 2-0 victory last month.
