Tropical Storm Leslie to Become Hurricane Later Today

Tropical Storm Leslie, the 12th named system of the Atlantic season this year, is forecast to become a hurricane later today, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Leslie is located 940 miles (1510 kilometers) east of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean with maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour, the Miami-based center said in a 5 a.m. advisory posted on its website.
