Putin to Open Work on South Stream Pipe in Serbia, Politika Says

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Serbia on Dec. 11 to attend the start of construction of the Serbian section of the South Stream gas pipeline, Politika newspaper reported, citing people in Moscow it didn’t identify.

The 411-kilometer (256-mile) stretch will go from Serbia’s southeastern border with Bulgaria to Hungary in the north, and may cost about 1.9 billion euros ($2.37 billion) to build, the report said.
