BG Group Plc (BG/), Total SA (FP) and OAO Gazprom are among 13 companies interested in building a $400 million liquefied natural gas plant in Uruguay, the country’s energy director said.
The tender process will begin today for the 13 companies that have shown interest in participating, Ramon Mendez said in a phone interview from Montevideo today. The winner will operate the import terminal for 15 years.
Saipem SpA (SPM), Mitsubishi Corp. (8058) and Marubeni Corp. (8002) have also shown interest, Mendez said. The companies have inquired about the process and will be allowed to buy data on terms and conditions today. Finalists will be announced in October, he said.
