Aluminum Surplus Seen by WBMS for First Six Months This Year

Aluminum production exceeded demand by 381,000 metric tons in the first six months this year, compared with a surplus of almost 1.8 million tons for all of last year, according to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics.

Copper was in shortage at 129,000 tons, the Ware, England- based WBMS said in a statement yesterday.
