Nordea Acquires 1% of Rostelecom From Kerimov, Kommersant Says

August 06, 2012

Nordea Bank AB (NDA)’s Norwegian division acquired about 1 percent of OAO Rostelecom, Russia’s dominant long-distance phone operator, from a company that belongs to Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, Kommersant said, citing an unidentified shareholder of Rostelecom.

The deal is estimated at between 3.4 billion rubles (about $106 million) to 3.5 billion rubles, the newspaper said.

Investors from Norway and Finland have bought about 2.5 percent of Rostelecom over the past two months, Kommersant reported, citing an unidentified Rostelecom shareholder.

The bank’s press service, Kerimov’s company Nafta Moskva and Rostelecom all declined to comment, the newspaper said.
