Officer Who Responded at Temple Was Ambushed, Police Say

The first police officer who responded to 911 calls at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, was ambushed by the alleged shooter, police said.

A second police officer then shot and killed the gunman, said John Edwards, police chief for the Oak Creek police department, in a televised briefing.

Seven were killed in the shooting and three were injured, including the police officer, Edwards said.
