N.Y. Oil Extends Gain as U.S. Payrolls Rise More Than Forecast

Oil extended gains in New York after U.S. payrolls increased more than forecast last month.

Crude for September delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 97 cents, or 1.1 percent, at $88.10 a barrel at 1:32 p.m. London time. The contract was at $87.87 shortly before the Labor Department’s report in Washington.
