Tiger Woods, seeking his first major title in four years, holds a one-stroke lead in the opening round of the British Open.
Woods is 4 under par through seven holes at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, England. The 14-time major winner has moved in front with consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh holes.
Masters champion Bubba Watson and Adam Scott are tied for second at 3 under, with former major winners Paul Lawrie, Zach Johnson and Graeme McDowell at 2 under.
