Japan Buys Net 1165.1 Bln Yen Foreign Debt Last Week

Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended July 13 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.

Japanese investors bought 1165.1 billion yen ($14.8 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 56.1 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 21.8 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net sale of 1130.8 billion yen.

Foreign investors sold 10.1 billion yen in Japanese bonds, sold 133.8 billion yen in stocks, and sold 861.1 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net sale 1005 billion yen.
