The euro erased a decline against the dollar, leaving it little changed at $1.2292 as of 8:37 a.m. London time after weakening as much as 0.2 percent to $1.2267.

The 17-member currency was also little changed at 97.17 yen. It earlier slid as much as 0.3 percent to 96.88.
