South Korea Has 17,337 MW of Nuclear Capacity Online

South Korea has 16 nuclear reactors in operation, producing 15,234 megawatts of power, or about 79 percent of total capacity, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Two additional plants are undergoing trials with 2,103 megawatts of capacity online.

The following table shows the status of the nation’s 21 reactors with a combined regular capacity of 19,259 megawatts and an additional two that are in pilot operations by state-run Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. as of today. The date for the Kori-1 reactor to resume production will be decided after the operator consults with the government and gets the support of local residents, according to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
