India’s Jeev Milkha Singh beat Francesco Molinari of Italy at the first playoff hole to win golf’s Scottish Open in Inverness today.
The pair had finished level on 17-under par 271 after final rounds of 67 and 72, respectively. Scotland’s Marc Warren, who three away a three-shot lead, came joint third on 16-under with Alexander Noren of Sweden.
The result means Singh qualifies for the British Open, starting in four days at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in northwest England. He picked up a prize of 518,000 euros ($633,000) today in his fourth win on the European Tour.
