Chilean Stocks: Concha & Toro, Copec, Hortifrut, Latam Airlines

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa index fell 0.2 percent to 4,355.89. The MSCI Chile index (MXCL) dropped 0.5 percent to 2,405.53.

Empresas Copec SA (COPEC) declined 1.1 percent to 7,194.2 pesos. Chile’s largest pulp exporter fell in line with global equity markets on concern a faltering economic recovery will hurt corporate profits.

Hortifrut SA (HF CI) fell 2.5 percent to 311.93 pesos. The Chilean berries exporter sold 103.6 million shares today at 320 pesos in an initial public offering in Santiago, below its initial 335-to-340 pesos target range.

Latam Airlines Group SA (LAN) rose 0.8 percent to 12,505 pesos for its biggest increase in three weeks. Latin American largest airline reported an 11.5 percent increase in passenger traffic in June from a year earlier.

Vina Concha & Toro SA (CONCHA) fell for a fourth day, declining 1.3 percent to 955.01 pesos. Deutsche Bank AG reduced its price estimate for Chile’s largest wine exporter to $46.25 per American depositary receipt after the company reported second-quarter volumes. The ADRs fell 1.4 percent to $38.63.
