China’s Shifang Lifts Traffic Ban After Protest, Xinhua Reports

Traffic restrictions in all parts of Shifang city in China’s Sichuan province were lifted today after a three-day protest ended, Xinhua News Agency reported, without citing anyone.

Local residents took to the streets June 30-July 2 to express strong opposition to a molybdenum and copper project which could result in environmental damage, according to Xinhua.
