Nigeria, EU Sign EU197 Million Funding Agreement, ThisDay Says

Nigeria and the European Union signed a 197 million-euro ($249.4 million) agreement to support the West African nation, ThisDay reported, citing Minister of National Planning Shamsuddeen Usman.

The money will be used to strengthen Nigeria’s judicial system, help fight drugs and organized crime, and improve water and sanitation, the Lagos-based newspaper said. They will also be used to support improving the electoral system ahead of the general elections in 2015, it said.
