Chile Stocks: Azul Azul, Endesa and Sigdo Koppers

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa index fell 0.1 percent to 4,324.01. The MSCI Chile index (MXCL) retreated 0.2 percent to 2,315.31.

Azul Azul SA (AZUL) , the owner of the Universidad de Chile soccer team, jumped 13 percent to 1,865.2 pesos after La Tercera reported that the company stood to earn $2 million from the trade of Junior Fernandes to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The stock exchange asked for an explanation after the shares earlier reached 1,950 pesos, according to a statement on the exchange’s website. Azul Azul advanced 18 percent yesterday after the team defeated Santiago-based Colo Colo to move to the finals of the Chilean soccer tournament.

Sigdo Koppers SA (SK) gained 1.4 percent to 1,189 pesos after Chile’s government said in an e-mailed statement that the industrial holding company will sign a $900 million agreement with China’s Sky Solar Holdings Co. to build 300 megawatts of solar projects in the Andean country.

Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA (ENDESA CC) fell 0.8 percent to 827.98 pesos. Chile’s largest power generator said yesterday it will appeal a decision by environmental authorities that rejected its 740-megawatt Punta Alcalde thermoelectric power project.
