General Electric Co
MPX Energia SA (MPXE3), the Brazilian power company owned by billionaire Eike Batista, and E.ON AG will double capacity of their 1-megawatt photovoltaic solar plant in the northeastern city of Taua.
General Electric Co. (GE), based in Fairfield, Connecticut, will supply 8,000 panels for the expansion that is expected to start producing power next year, the two companies said today in a joint statement.
MPX Energia, based in Rio de Janeiro, and E.ON said they plan to further expand the site to 50 megawatts, without disclosing a timeframe for the project.
