Argentina Stock Movers: TGS and Banco Macro Were Active

The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of the market close in Buenos Aires. The Merval (MERVAL) Index rose 1.3 percent to 2,341.49.

Transportadora de Gas del Sur SA (TGSU2 AR) advanced 4.7 percent to 2.25 pesos. The natural gas distributor rose after the country’s truck drivers yesterday ended a strike that threatened to cut supply.

Banco Macro SA (BMA AF), Argentina’s largest lender by market value, increased 4.1 percent to 8.35 pesos. Most Argentine government bonds rose, boosting the value of banks’ fixed-income holdings.
