Russian President Vladimir Putin and Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner discussed a possible partnership between the two countries’ state-run oil companies, Clarin reported, citing Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman.
Putin suggested the possible joint venture between Russia’s OAO Gazprom (GAZP) and Argentina’s YPF SA during a meeting in Mexico, where the two presidents participated in the G-20 summit, the Buenos Aires-based newspaper said. Fernandez asked YPF Chief Executive Officer Miguel Galuccio to start working with Gazprom, Clarin said.
