Trabzonspor, a Turkish first division soccer club, said it hired defender Souleymane Bamba from England’s Leicester City.

Trabzonspor will pay 750,000 U.K. pounds ($1.2 million) to Leicester for the contract, according to a statement from Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim & Futbol Isletmeciligi TAS, the club’s listed unit.

Trabzonspor shares gained 3.7 percent to 11.35 liras at 11:05 a.m. in Istanbul, heading for the biggest increase since June 1.
