Egypt’s ruling military council will issue a declaration within hours that stresses the need for the drafting of a new constitution within three months, the state- run Al-Ahram reported.

New parliamentary elections would be held and a committee charged with drafting the charter will also be formed, the newspaper reported, citing Sameh Ashour, head of the military council’s civilian advisory body.
