Sudan Army Repels Attacks by Rebels in Darfur, SUNA Reports

Sudan’s army repelled an attack by rebel forces on a town in the western region of Darfur yesterday, state-run SUNA news agency reported, citing Ahmed al- Tayeb, the government spokesman for the state of South Darfur.

Armed rebels attacked Um Ajora town in Al-Salam locality, targeting citizens’ property and government offices, the Khartoum-based agency said, without giving details of which of the Darfur rebel groups attacked.
