Spain Defeats Ireland 4-0 in Group C at European Championship

Spain defeated Ireland 4-0 to tie Croatia at the top of Group C at the European soccer championship.

Fernando Torres scored two goals and David Silva and Cesc Fabregas had one each for the defending champion in Gdansk, Poland.

Spain had four points from two games to match Croatia, which rallied to tie Italy 1-1. Italy has two points and Ireland, which was eliminated with the loss, has none.
