Romania Approves Energy Price Deregulation Law, Hotnews Reports

Romania’s Parliament approved an energy law today that provides for a gradual liberalization of regulated electricity and natural-gas prices starting this year, news website reported.

The law, which complies with a pledge by the government to the International Monetary Fund and the European Union under the terms of a precautionary accord, was approved by 186 votes in favor to three votes against, according to Bucharest-based Hotnews.
