Latvian Parliament Backs Higher Retirement Age Starting 2014

Latvia’s Parliament passed legislation to raise the retirement age starting 2014 to shore up public finances as the Baltic nation’s population ages.

The 100-member legislature backed boosting the pension age to 65 from 62 for both men and women in three-month increments until 2024, according to a statement today from Parliament.
