Natural Gas Extends Gain After U.S. Cuts Output Estimate

Natural gas futures extended gains after the Energy Department cut its estimate of U.S. gas production this year.

Gas for July delivery rose 4.9 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $2.267 per million British thermal units at 12:11 p.m. on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The futures were trading at $2.253 before the report was released at noon in Washington.
