Fuel Spills Into Danube at Slovak Port of Bratislava, Sme Says

As much as 13,600 liters (3,588 gallons) of diesel fuel spilled into the Danube river today in the Slovak capital, Bratislava, Sme reported, citing an unidentified official at the Environment Ministry.

The fuel leaked into the river during the loading of a tanker at the city’s port, the newspaper said. Crews are working at the site of the accident to contain the spill, Sme said.
