Colombian Stocks: Canacol, Ecopetrol, ISA, Pacific Rubiales

The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close of trading.

The IGBC Index (IGBC) fell 1 percent to 13,901.89, while the Colcap Index dropped 1 percent to 1,656.57. Colombian markets were closed yesterday for a holiday.

Interconexion Electrica SA (ISA) dropped 2.6 percent to 10,620 pesos. The Prosperity Highway project will be assigned through a public auction after ISA didn’t meet the necessary legal requirements, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said, according to an e-mailed statement. The Colombian energy and highway company can take part in the public auction to build the project, Caracol Radio said today, citing an interview with Mines and Energy Minister Mauricio Cardenas.

Colombia’s oil output dropped to 936,052 barrels a day in May from 955,000 barrels in April, Cardenas told reporters in Cartagena on June 8. May output was hampered by infrastructure and transport difficulties, according to an e-mailed statement.

Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETL) , Colombia’s largest oil company, fell 1.5 percent to 5,150 pesos. Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (PRE) , which operates the country’s largest oil field, dropped 1.8 percent to 43,420 pesos. Petrominerales Ltd. (PMG) , a Calgary-based oil company that operates in the Andean region, decreased 5.5 percent to 21,560 pesos. Canacol Energy Ltd. (CNEC) , the Calgary-based oil company that operates fields in Colombia, slumped 7.8 percent to 1,000 pesos.
