Russia May Ban Alcohol Advertising on Internet, Vedomosti Says

Russia may prohibit the advertising of alcoholic drinks on the Internet, Vedomosti reported, citing Igor Rudensky, the chairman of a state duma committee.

The panel will decide today whether to recommend adoption of an alcohol advertising bill, the newspaper said. If the measure is passed, such advertising will be outlawed from July 23 on the Internet, on television and radio and on the first and last pages of printed media, according to the report.
