Sonatrach, Gazprom Agree on LNG Cooperation, El Khabar Reports

June 06, 2012

Algeria’s state-run Sonatrach and Russia’s OAO Gazprom have agreed to maximize their LNG sales worldwide through swaps, El Khabar reported, citing Sonatrach Chief Executive Officer Abdelhamid Zerguine.

Zerguine and Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller discussed optimizing LNG gas sales worldwide, he said at a gas conference in Malaysia, according to the daily. The exchange would allow Algeria to supply Asian customers through Gazprom and the Russian company to supply its European customers through Sonatrach, cutting transportation costs for both companies, Zerguine told the newspaper.
