Kansas City Board of Trade Says Wheat Open Interest Rose in May

Wheat futures open interest on the Kansas City Board of Trade rose 4.2 percent in May from a month earlier to 143,369 contracts, the exchange said in an e-mailed report today.

Open interest for wheat options jumped 20 percent to 18,241 contracts, and wheat options trading gained 90 percent to 12,978 contracts, the KCBOT said. Total open interest on the exchange was 161,610 contracts, up 5.8 percent from April.
