Azerbaijan’s Umid Field to Pump Gas From September, APA Reports

Azerbaijan’s Umid natural-gas field will start production in September, the APA news service reported, citing State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan, or Socar.

The offshore field will pump at least 1 million cubic meters of gas a day, for use on the domestic market, Socar First Vice President Xosbaxt Yusifzada said, according to APA.

Socar announced the discovery of Umid in November 2010. The deposit may hold 250 billion cubic meters of gas, according to company estimates.
