Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s ruling party’s support declined and is on the brink of losing its position as the most-popular political party, according to a Tarki poll.
Fidesz’s backing fell in May to 16 percent among eligible voters from 21 percent in April, the pollster said on its website today. The Socialist Party’s backing rose to 15 percent from 13 percent, while the radical nationalist Jobbik’s support rose to 11 percent from 9 percent and Lehet Mas a Politika was steady at 5 percent.
Forty-nine percent of respondents said they were undecided or wouldn’t answer, up from 45 percent in April. Tarki conducted its poll from May 17 to May 22. No margin of error was given.
