The Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate Mohamed Mursi and Ahmed Shafik, who was prime minister in the last days of the rule of Hosni Mubarak, will compete in runoffs in Egypt’s presidential elections after taking the most votes in the first round, Farouk Soultan, the head of the elections commission said today in Cairo.
