Japan’s Toyota, Kansai Paint Invested $312 Million in S. Africa

South Africa attracted investments worth $312 million in 2011 from Japanese companies Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) and Kansai Paint Co., Trade Minister Rob Davies said.

“The number of Japanese companies that have invested in South Africa has increased to approximately 108,” Davies said in an e-mailed statement today at the start of a visit to Japan.

He will meet various businesses, including Nissan Motor Co., Isuzu Motors Ltd. (7202), Toyota, and the Japanese Business Federation-Keidanren, according to the statement.
